Console - Brewyn With the
latest offering from Ocean Kayak the Prowler Trident 15 and it's central
fish/rod box, Brewyn got thinking on how he could customise his Ocean
Kayak Big Game to include one of the same. Before cutting
out, Brewyn marked where he wanted to cut the existing centre console
keeping as tight to the tray as possible to retain rigidity, he then cut
carefully using a sharp Stanley knife. It was like using a hot knife in
butter, so be careful if attempting yourself.
Centre
console cut out.
With the console removed the rods fitted in easily, but they are only 4 1/2ft long. As an alternative,
you could cut only the tray out, leaving the cup holder recess in place.
?? seperated the tray and cup holder afterwards and glued and rivetted
the cup holder back in position.
Leaving
the cup holder in position makes it more suitable for storing small pieces
of end tackle. Reducing
the depth of the tray and riveting both sides at one end allows the tray
to be permanently attached but opening like a trap door.
Riveted
tray in open position.
